We are investigating a theft from person in the City Centre, St Albans between 13:00pm and 14:50am on Tuesday 5th September 2024. Victim was in the town Centre shopping when suspect/suspects stole Victim’s purse and passport from her handbag. Have you noticed anyone or anything suspicious in the area or have any information that may be of use to the police regarding these crimes which may assist us?

Tips

. Beware of your surrounding in crowded places and ATM

. Make sure you have your phone or large amount of cash secured in button or zipped pocket and close to you.

. Do use a money belt if you’re carrying a significant quantity of cash and purse that’s’ difficult to open. One that zips or snaps shut is best, and keep it closed and close to you

. Do carry bags in front of you or diagonally across your chest

. Cancel all bank Cards and call 101 when you realise your purse/phone have been stolen  

. Do not leave your purse in a shopping trolley whiles shopping
