Three teenage boys from Welwyn Hatfield have been arrested on suspicion of motorbike theft in the local area.

The following were arrested across Tuesday and Wednesday (1 and 2 October):

The teenagers have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

A vehicle linked to the crimes has also been seized by police.

Sergeant Deane Brittain, from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Unfortunately, we have seen a recent spike in motorbike thefts but we are working hard to tackle this. I hope the news of these arrests reassures the public.

“We will continue tackling the issue but we would also recommend motorbike owners to make sure they are taking steps to protect their bikes. For example, you can use a disc lock to help secure the front brake disc, or a grip lock to secure the brake and throttle controls. You could also use a D lock on the front wheel to stop it being wheeled away.
