Police in Bishop’s Stortford are appealing for the public’s assistance following a report of an assault in the town centre.

The incident occurred at around 12pm on Saturday 12 October inside the Jackson Square car park.

It was reported that two women described as being white, approximately 60 years of age and around 5ft 6ins tall, wearing gold jewellery, black puffer jackets, black leggings and trainers approached the victim.

The two women then proceeded to push the victim, a woman aged in her 50s, to the ground, then hit her in the head and grabbed her hair.

PC Lauren Sykes said: “This appeal is now being issued following further information being received about the incident. If you witnessed what happened, then please get in touch.”
