Dear Resident, Following on from the weekend's local derby at Vicarage Road, we'd like to thank both sets of supporters and local residents. Hertfordshire Constabulary Chief Inspector and Match Commander Ian Grout said: “I’d like to thank fans of both Watford and Luton for their co-operation on Sunday, allowing the day to run smoothly and without any significant incidents. “We appreciate there was some disruption to the typical match-day routine, with numerous road closures having to be implemented for safety reasons. “Everyone managed to arrive at the stadium, enjoy the game and return home safely, and that was our main priority. “Plenty of planning went into making Sunday a peaceful day, and our message from the outset was clear: anyone who was intent on coming into Watford and causing disorder were not welcome. “Officers had to make two arrests, one either side of the match, due to some disruption, and the incidents were dealt with swiftly. “We hope all fans had a safe and enjoyable afternoon, and that members of the public who used Watford for its other facilities on the day, along with local residents, were not inconvenienced.”
