Theft from Motor Vehicle - Larchwood Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 5NA.

Dear Resident

On the 27th of March 2025, between 12:30hrs and 12:40hrs, a theft from a vehicle occurred in Larchwood Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 5NA.

The offender of this incident is at the moment unknown. The victim stated that he left his car parked outside his address locked and secure. Then an unknown offender has approached his vehicle, using an unknown tool to open his vehicle without causing any damage and conduct a messy search in the car. The offender stole some items from the victim's vehicle, unknown the exact items.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
