Dear Resident, Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a boy was bitten by a dog in Welwyn Garden City. At around 6.15pm on Monday 28 April, a 13-year-old boy was riding his bike with friends along Eddington Crescent. He was reportedly approached by a small terrier-type dog that was off its lead, with the animal then biting his foot and leaving a red mark. The dog owner was described as a white male, of large build and aged approximately 40 to 50 years old. He was also said to have flat, grey hair and was wearing a black t-shirt. PC Aaron Pender, who is investigating, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am urging anyone with information to please come forward. “I believe there may have been a group of teenagers who were in the area at the time and saw what happened. If you have any information, please contact me via email at Aaron.Pender@herts.police.uk.” You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting 41/38757/25. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
