Dear Resident What have your neighbourhood officers across Dacorum been up to over the past few days – here is just a small round-up: Berkhamsted Work has continued to tackle speeding in the area, as part of the current local policing priorities. Following feedback from members of the public on Herts Connected, checks were carried out in Shooters Way and on The Common in Potten End. The local team were out visiting homes in Graemesdyke Road on Saturday (31 May), to speak to residents about any issues or concerns, provide crime prevention advice and sign people up to the Herts Connected community messaging service. PCs Watson and Stover were invited to a breakfast event at a local care home, where they were able to meet with staff, carers and residents to pass on advice. Tring Patrols have been carried out around Tring Park following reports of fires being set in the area. Officers will continue to work with the Woodland Trust to prevent anti-social behaviour and arson at the location. Patrols were carried out around the Memorial Gardens to provide a visible presence. A community engagement event was held outside Tesco, to allow shoppers to discuss any issues or concerns with their local officers. Crime prevention advice was also given. Hemel Hempstead Officers attended an emergency services engagement day in the Marlowes on Saturday (31 May). The event was hosted by the Business Improvement District (BID) to allow members of the public to find out more about the police, fire and ambulance services. More than 1,000 people attended. Thank you to everyone who spoke to us. Proactive patrols were carried out at the fair in Gadebridge Park. A community engagement event was held at Stoneycroft shops. Supervisor PCSO Jackman attended an event organised through Grovehill based organisation Baytus Salaam, which supports the Muslim community. Promoted as a community event bursting with flavour, colour and creativity, it certainly lived up to its billing! Kings Langley PCs Robinson and Sweeting joined members of the parish council for a meet and greet event with residents. They were able to discuss any concerns and get advice. Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT) and play a vital role in offering a reassuring presence to the public, helping to fight crime and anti-social behaviour, and forge stronger relationships with the communities they serve. They carry out regular patrols and host public engagement events. Alongside the NPT, Dacorum is also policed by Intervention officers who respond to emergency calls, the Local Crime Unit which investigates the more serious crimes such as burglary, robbery and assault, and specialist units who work to tackle issues such as acquisitive crime and domestic abuse.
