Two charged and remanded in relation to cannabis factory – Maple Cross

Two people have been charged and remanded in connection with the discovery and dismantlement of a cannabis factory in Maple Cross.

The charges come after officers from the Operational Support Group, supported by colleagues in both Watford and Three Rivers Local Crime Units respectively, conducted a drugs’ warrant in Chalfont Road shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday (31 May).

This high-visibility action was carried out after police received intelligence to suggest the property was being used to grow class B drugs. Officers discovered and seized more than 100 cannabis plants as part of their initial enquiries.

Detective Constable Laura Wilks, from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, said: “We are pleased to have secured charges in relation to this case and our investigation is continuing. This is a great example of how important information from the public is when it comes to helping us crack down on suspected drug crime.

“Some may see it as ‘just a little bit of cannabis’ but we’d urge them to see the bigger picture: it’s often linked to serious organised crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people, which we are committed to tackling.

“Our advice would be that if you have any suspicions about potential drug crime in your area, please report it.”
