Neighbourhood Policing Week

Dear Resident

This week we have been celebrating the work of the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams that cover East Herts. There are four separate teams dedicated to police a local area. Each team is headed by Sergeants with a group of PC's, PCSO's and volunteers working hard to keep your area safe.

It has been a packed and productive week and here are just a few highlights from our team’s efforts:

🚨 Early morning warrant executed in Bishop’s Stortford targeting drug-related activity.

🤝 Community engagement at a local homeless shelter and food bank, plus outreach in key neighbourhood priority areas.

👮‍♂️ Three arrests made, including:

  • One individual charged with possession of a bladed article and 17 burglary/theft offences

  • One for possession of an offensive weapon

  • One for drugs and Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) offences

  • Three out of custody disposals

  • 🚗 Three proactive vehicle operations:

  • 100 vehicles stopped

  • 3 vehicles seized

  • 9 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs)

  • 8 Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme (VDRS) notices issued

  • 📦 427 illegal vapes seized in partnership with Trading Standards

💷 £80,000 in cash seized in relation to suspected fraud / proceeds of crime offences

The local Neighbourhood Policing team are supported by response colleagues and CID together with specialist units such as dogs, firearms and traffic working together as part of Team Herts.
