E-bike seized in connection with dangerous driving

Dear Resident

Here in South Oxhey, the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is focusing on the illegal use of electric motorbikes following feedback from residents.

This afternoon, Sergeant Blackwood was out on patrol when he signalled for an e-bike to stop on Ainsdale Road after it sped past him.

However, the rider clearly didn’t fancy having a chat! Despite him trying to shake us off, we quickly identified the rider's address and paid him a visit.

One bike seized under Section 165, and one bike no longer causing a risk to the public. You can view a photo of the bike on the Three Rivers Police Facebook page.

Further enquiries are continuing around the vehicle and rider.

Dangerous driving is never acceptable. We can, and we will, seize your e-bike if you do not comply with the law. It’s there to keep you – and everyone else – safe.

If you witness an e-bike being driven dangerously, please report it to us. You can:
