Theft from Motor Vehicle - London Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9TD.

Dear Resident

On the 21st of July 2025, at 17:00hrs, a theft from a vehicle occurred in London Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9TD.

The victim left his vehicle at the pub car park, The Red Lion. The victim has then been notified by a member of the public stating that an unknown person was in his van potentially stealing his tools. When the victim arrived, he found his tools at the back of the van stolen and damaged caused at the door of the van.

The victim managed to see the offender leaving in a white ford transit connect.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
