Theft of Motor Vehicle Arkley Road, Hemel Hempstead

Between 22/07/2025 06:20 to 22/07/2025 16:20 a theft of a vehicle occurred in Arkley Road, Hemel Hempstead

 

Between material times, the suspect has approached the victim's car from an unknown direction, and has broken the glass of the vehicle to gain entry. The suspect has stolen the vehicle and departed in an unknown direction.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

  • Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.
  • Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle
  • When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.
  • Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.
  • Be aware of your keys.  Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.  
  • If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.
  • Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
