Rural Team Patrols

Good Afternoon 

This week the Rural Operational Support Team have been busy throughout Hertfordshire conducting patrols and investigating animal related offences. 

Firstly, whilst patrolling in an unmarked vehicle on the A414 one morning in Hertford a high-powered Audi decided to speed past us at over 100mph, we managed to catch-up and pulled the driver over, strong words of advice were given and he was reported for Excess Speed, soon to have a minimum of three penalty points added to their existing six, you guessed it, all for speeding. 

We have continued our dedicated Op Galileo (hare coursing) patrols around North and East Hertfordshire, attended to an injured bird of prey on the A1(M), provided advice to our colleagues throughout the force on animal welfare matters and taken on an investigation into animal cruelty offences whereby three dogs sadly died earlier this month in Colney Heath.
