Drivers reported during speeding operation |
||
Two drivers were reported for speeding during a police operation in Welwyn Hatfield. A speeding operation was carried out in the south of the borough on Saturday (2 August). The following locations were targeted: Each street was chosen based on public feedback given on Herts Connected in the last priority setting survey. The operation was carried out by the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team with support from the Special Constabulary*. Eleven drivers were stopped for driving with excess speed and given words of advice. Two drivers were reported for driving at speeds of 40mph and 41mph. PC Martin Field, from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “A number of residents expressed concern about speeding on these roads and I hope this operation reassures you that we are listening to your views. “I would like to remind the public that the speed limit on these roads is 30mph for good reason. Speeding is one of the leading causes of road deaths and it is never worth that risk.” You can also use the Herts Connected platform to let us know what you think we should be prioritising in your area. Your feedback will help towards shaping our local policing priorities, initiatives and campaigns.
