I hope you're enjoying the sunshine and having a great weekend!
I wanted to take a moment to share some recent updates on the work our team has been doing across Letchworth, Baldock, and nearby villages — much of which may not always be visible but is making a real impact.
On Wednesday 6th August, officers executed a Section 8 Police and Criminal Evidence Act warrant at an address in the Letchworth Southeast ward. Using a range of entry techniques, the occupants were swiftly detained and a search commenced. While I’m unable to share further details at this time, please be assured that enquiries are ongoing.
Later that evening, PCSO Angelo Pavlou and I joined forces with our wider team to tackle the issue of nuisance off-road motorcycles — a concern many of you have raised. Within just twenty minutes of arriving in Weston, we detained an individual riding an off-road motorcycle on a public road. The driver was reported for no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with their licence.
This is a clear example of our “You said, we did” approach. Your concerns are being heard, and we’re taking action.
On Saturday 9th August, PCSO Pavlou hosted a bike marking event in Ivel Court, Letchworth, where 10 pedal cycles were marked to help trace them if stolen. Although I wasn’t able to attend, it was a great success and a valuable service to the community.

We remain committed to tackling the issues that matter most to you, including drug-related activity and nuisance vehicles. Just because enforcement isn’t always visible doesn’t mean it’s not happening — much of our work continues behind the scenes.
