Re-appeal after boy injured by dog in Cuffley park

Dear Resident,

Police are refreshing an appeal for witnesses and information after reports of a dog being dangerously out of control in Cuffley.

At around 3.05pm on Saturday 7 June, a boy was attending a large-scale football tournament with his parents in the King George V Playing Fields on Northaw Road East.

The boy, aged three, was injured by a Yorkshire Terrier-type dog and sustained a mark to his stomach and a rip to his coat.

Officers are now able to release a description of the dog’s owner, who was described as being a white man with grey hair, approximately 6ft tall and aged in his 50s.

PC Poppie Jaram, who is investigating, said: “Our enquires are continuing, with previous lines of enquiry proving unsuccessful.

“I am asking anyone with information to please get in touch, especially because there were many people in the area at the time who may have seen what happened.

“If you have any further information to assist us, please email me via Poppie.Jaram@herts.police.uk.”
