Burglary - Residential

Dear Resident

On 12/08/2025 between 01:20am and 02:10am a burglary took place on Deacons Hill Elstree.

Unknown offenders have gained access to the property via an upstairs window which was unlocked where a messy search was conducted before making off from the property in an unknown direction. We are unsure at this time whether or not any vehicles were used in this offence. It is also possible they gained access to the property from Belmor road and have hopped over the back fence to gain entry. (I apologise for the additional alert, this was to rectify the location of other routes the offenders could have used to gain access to the property)

If you have any information relating to this crime you can click the reply button at the bottom of the email, or by contacting the police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number 41/75952/25

Alternatively, you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Tips to prevent burglary:

  • Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed.

  • Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features.

  • Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place.

  • Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages as well as windows.

  • Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home.

  • Use laminate glass where possible for any rear doors or windows. If this is not practicable, consider the use of security film over existing windows.

  • Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home.

  • Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera, or a monitored burglar alarm.

  • Consider adding trellis to any side or rear boundaries to add extra height up to a maximum of 2 metres.

  •

Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area.

If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.
