Hello Resident
The Neighbourhood Policing Team are here to work with the community to address your local priorities. While our response teams respond to 999 calls and our Local Crime Unit detectives handle investigations, the Neighbourhood Team work in addition to these teams to provide this dedicated support to the community.
Every four months, we ask the public for feedback through our Priority Setting Survey. This survey allows us to gather your feedback and establish three priorities for your local area. The results of the survey are reviewed by local officers like me to understand how the community feels.
One of the agreed upon priorities for us to focus on this period is anti social behaviour in green spaces. Some of you may be aware that through working with Stevenage Borough Council officers were able to reduce anti social behaviour in the wooded area behind Grenville Way over the summer. However, Shephalbury Park is large and I have been made aware that there are ongoing concerns. Some residents have reached out to let me know about nuisance vehicle use (electronic bikes and e-scooters) and drug use.
My team and I will be focussing on this in the coming weeks and months. The police often receive vague reports which say things such as “there was someone going fast on a bike.” I would urge you, as a local resident, to use this forum to provide police with as much detail as you can. I appreciate this may not always be practical, such as during night time hours. But, where possible, please reach out with dates, times, descriptions (including of vehicles), directions - it all helps! The more information we have, the better targeted our response can be.
Thank you,
Sergeant Sam Lessons 1677 | ||
