I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Online Fraud or Scams, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Officers from the Serious Fraud and Cyber unit in Hertfordshire Constabulary will be holding a FREE cyber crime and fraud prevention session on Tuesday 25th November from 10:45am to 3pm at Croxley Green Library, Barton Way, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth WD3 3HB. You can drop in for a while or stay all day to hear different presentations from other experts.
Across Hertfordshire in 2024, Hertfordshire Constabulary received 5,278 reports of fraud with a total loss of £34 million. Fraud is when trickery is used to gain a dishonest advantage, which is often financial, over another person. Cybercrime is any criminal act dealing with computers and networks.
