Dear Resident A man who stole mobile phones from two teenage girls in a violent street robbery has been handed a nine-year prison sentence. The 24 year old was sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on Friday (19 December) after being convicted of the crime in October. Detective Constable Julie Vint, from Watford’s Criminal Investigation Department, (CID) said: “The victims had to wait a very long time for Biggs to be sentenced due to multiple delays in the court process, but they have shown dignity and composure beyond their years. “It’s been a long journey, but I’m pleased we have finally been able to secure a custodial sentence, and I hope it allows both girls to move forward with their lives.
