Local Priorities Vehicle crime – Cadets Secure Cars! |
||
|
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime – theft from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. PCSO 6003 Prosho has led a Stevenage Cadet Team under Operation Vamplate on Thursday the 12th of February, whereby they were helping members of the public secure their vehicles. Due to a rise in theft from motor vehicles, predominately in wards such as Old Town, Pin Green and Bedwell, cadets have been trying car door handles in order to find unsecure cars which may be broken into. We found a total of five on this operation, whereby all vehicle owners involved were contacted, made sure that their vehicles locked and was given advise. In doing this operation, these people are now far less likely to get their vehicle broken into and valued possessions stolen. If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.herts.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
