Dear Resident Police are issuing a warning after receiving several reports of front doors being kicked in Hitchin. A report was received of an incident in Seebohm Close at around 5.15pm on Monday (23 March). Two boys were seen in the area around the time of the incident - One is described as being white, wearing a black hoody, black trousers and black trainers, while the second is described as black with Afro hair, wearing a black hooded rain jacket, black trousers as well as black and white Nike Airforce trainers. PC Alex Wheeler, of the Neighbourhood Policing Team: “We've had a spate of similar incidents to this across the Westmill estate and Ickleford which are unrelated, but indicate a bit of an emerging trend. “Those involved seem to be kicking the doors of the properties they approach and running off. “While some may see this as a prank, it can cause damage, alarm to residents, and lead to unnecessary distress. “It can also potentially amount to a criminal offence of harassment, attempted criminal damage, criminal damage and others.” If you have information about the Seebohm Close incident, this can be reported online at herts.police.uk/report, by speaking to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/26994/26. | ||
