Update on local policing priorities

During our most recent priority setting forums, members of the public gave feedback on the issues they’d like to see their neighbourhood officers focusing on over the coming months. Here is an update on how we are addressing your concerns in Welwyn Hatfield South.

You Said… Anti-social behaviour including nuisance vehicles and drug use in Overfield Close/Fieldside Close and the surrounding area. 

We Did….

• We have been targeting this issue through high-visibility patrols.

• We are working closely with partners and building up intelligence to identify offenders.

You Said… Anti-social behaviour using vehicles and off road bikes in Welham Green

 We Did…

• This area remains a focus for targeted patrols, increased stop and search activity, and plain-clothes operations. These tactics are aimed at disrupting drug-related activity and associated criminality and we conducted a recent Day of Action focusing on these.

• During the Day of Action, we stop searched a number of known drug dealers in that area who we believed were on their way to pick up drugs. This proactive enforcement disrupted and prevented a number of exchanges happening.
