E-Scooter Seizures |
||
|
Dear Resident,
Officers from the local policing team have seized two e-scooters in Hoddesdon.
Officers witnessed the e-scooters were being used in a manner that caused concern to local residents, and took positive action to remove them from the streets. We would like to thank members of the public who continue to report issues affecting their community.
We would also like to remind residents that privately owned e-scooters are illegal to use on public roads, pavements and other public places. Riders can face enforcement action, including seizure of the vehicle, fines and points on their driving licence where applicable. Once the e-scooter has been seized it will be destroyed.
As a result, we strongly advise against purchasing e-scooters for use in public areas, particularly for children and young people, as many people are unaware of the legal restrictions surrounding their use.
Officers will continue to carry out high-visibility patrols across Hoddesdon and will take action against those using e-scooters unlawfully. Where offences are identified, e-scooters may be seized and further enforcement action considered.
If you have concerns about anti-social behaviour in your area, please continue to report them to police so that we can take appropriate action. | ||
