Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Between 23:00hrs on Sunday 6th September 2026 to 23:30hrs on Monday 7th September 2026 a theft of a vehicle occurred in STATION ROAD, BROXBOUNRE.

Between material times a BLACK NISSAN NAVARA was stolen from outside victims house. Unknown how this occurred and unknown description of offender(s). Victim still has the car keys so please see below the information about keyless entry cars.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
