Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Reduce youth-related anti-social behaviour in Cricketfield Lane and Hadham Road, Bishop’s Stortford, including the use of off-road bikes, mainly occurring between 3pm and 8pm.

Issued 01 January 2026

Neighbourhood officers met with staff at the community club to discuss local issues and reinforce the importance of reporting incidents. Officers have also carried out patrols at the end of the school day, engaging with parents and students, and locating young people in a wooded area. Since these targeted patrols began, reports involving this location have decreased.

Regular patrols have been conducted by PCSOs using police e‑bikes and on foot, focusing on the Harding area and speaking with local dog walkers and club staff. As a result, reports from the community have now stopped, and young people on off‑road bikes are no longer frequenting the area. There are no recent signs of use on the field.

We will continue to work with the club to ensure these issues do not re‑emerge.

Actioned 01 March 2026

Reduce reports of road related offences in Harlow Road in Sawbridgeworth. Monday to Friday, between 8am and 8pm

Issued 01 January 2026

Regular operations have been carried out on Harlow Road and surrounding areas to address road‑related offences. This includes speed enforcement, mobile‑phone enforcement patrols, and joint operations with neighbouring forces aimed at tackling serious and organised criminals travelling through the area.

Our recent patrol activity has helped deter mobile‑phone use while driving, and the number of speeding vehicles has decreased. We continue to work with Essex Police to ensure the road is not used as a route for serious and organised crime.
