Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

The new priorities for May to August are as follows:

• Burglary – engagement with residents to help prevent offences.
• Retail related crime including shoplifting.

Issued 01 May 2026

Residents will see their dedicated team of PCs and PCSOs working alongside partners to tackle the issues, through an increased police presence, engagement events and targeted enforcement.

Actioned 01 May 2026

The previous local priorities for the area were:

• Reduce anti-social behaviour in the vicinity of Rickmansworth High Street, and Waitrose.

• Tackle an increase in residential burglary across the neighbourhood policing area.

Issued 01 May 2026

• Patrols have been carried out to help identify those involved and prevent incidents from occurring.
• An engagement event was held inside Waitrose to allow people to discuss any concerns and share information about anti-social behaviour.
• Officers stopped two teenagers near Waitrose, following reports of anti-social behaviour in the store and the car park. They were taken home to their parents and further enquiries are being carried out.
• Officers were on patrol when they noticed a smell of cannabis. They followed the trail to a small group of teenagers. One handed over half a joint that he’d been smoking, along with a couple of others he’d prepared for later. Officers took the time to have an open and honest conversation with the group, discussing the dangers and consequences of taking drugs, as well as county lines.

• Patrols have been carried out.
• Crime prevention advice has been shared with residents at engagement events.
• Crime prevention campaigns have featured on social media.

Actioned 01 May 2026
